Yoga Among Poetry and Petals

  • Book and Bloom 115 East Dallas Street Broken Arrow, OK, 74012 United States (map)

Welcome to our enchanting Yoga Among Poetry and Petals workshop. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or stepping onto the mat for the first time, this gentle flow is designed to connect you with the essence of flowers and your inner sanctuary. Hosted by one of our own, Kim Curtis is a trained yogi and will be your guide.

Event Details:

  1. Date: Saturday, September 7

  2. Time: 10am - 12pm

  3. Location: Book and Bloom (in the flower workshop)

Flow and Intentions:

  1. Soft Beginnings: Kim will guide you through a soft, beginner-friendly yoga flow. Enjoy the flowers placed around the room, their scent and their symbolism.

  2. Floral Intentions: As you move through each pose, weave intentions inspired by these resilient blooms. Daisies symbolize purity and innocence, while goldenrod represents healing and courage.

  3. Breath and Blossom: Inhale the sweet scent of petals, exhale any tension. Imagine your breath as a gentle breeze carrying the whispers of flowers.

  4. Shavasana Bliss: After our flow, sink into shavasana—a restful pause where you’ll be cradled by the earth and petals. Let go, surrender, and absorb the floral energy.

  5. Mary Oliver’s Poetry: As you rest, Kim will share a soul-stirring Mary Oliver poem about daisies or goldenrod. Let her words bloom within you.

Post-Practice Delights:

  1. Sip on our soothing botanical iced tea.

  2. Indulge in a piece of dark chocolate—a sweet reward for your practice.

  3. Create your own flower bundle to take home—a tangible reminder of your connection to nature.
